Songwriter Big Lenny B ready to release single ‘In a Minute’

Track taken from upcoming album ‘…& Friends’, both released Feb 2015

A bass playing singer songwriter from the South East UK, Big Lenny B is a 20 year veteran of the industry in both original bands and as a session musician. His session career has seen him sharing stages with many top acts such as Feeder, Razorlight, The Feeling, Noah and the Whale, as well as supporting the likes of Foxes and Scouting for Girls.

These experiences have given him a great inside look into the workings of the music industry, and he’s now gearing up for his first solo release in 2015, along with a live show in which he plans to ‘show the youngsters how it’s done’. It all starts with the excellent debut single ‘In A Minute’ which is due for release on February 16th.

Written about that first moment of mutual attraction you feel when spotting someone for the first time as they smile back, it’s a brilliantly uplifting single – rhythmically dynamic and high in energy, it sums up Big Lenny B’s love for song writing perfectly:

The single is taken from the album ‘…& Friends’ out February 23rd –was produced by Martin Smith and Mastered by Jon Astley, and there are obvious influences from the classic likes of Roger Waters, The Who, Elbow, Genesis, Pink Floyd, plus a few contemporary touches for good measure. His unusual production approach saw him bring in layers and lines from many remote contributors, splicing them all together to create the full tracks as they appear on the album.

The method gave rise to the album title, and this layering of different musicians, sometimes with multiple players on each instrument, makes for a unique sound.

Lyrically, the album is an observational one, taking cues from the everyday life and experiences of Big Lenny B. It makes for a collection of uniquely personal insights and thoughts from a musician who has enjoyed a varied life both on stage and off.
