Have you ever wondered what David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars’ would sound like rearranged as a piece of classical music? Well, to be honest, neither had we. But, having heard this new single from Joanna Forest, we’re glad somebody else thought of it.
Characterised by huge flowing swells of orchestra complimented by Forest’s superb soprano vocal, this new version takes the dramatic rise and fall of the original and turns it up to 11. The chorus in particular offers a very pleasing crescendo, executed to perfection alongside the perfectly pitched vocal.
‘Life on Mars’ is out now as a single, and also part of Forest’s number one album ‘Stars Are Rising’.
