MAKING A POWERFUL INTRODUCTION WITH DEBUT SINGLE ‘BURNING BRIDGES’

‘Burning Bridges’ is a hurricane-force introduction to Victory. A powerful and multi-layered song, set atop a soulful electro-cinematic canvas,  in which Victory invites the listener to attach their own meaning to the lyrics, from their own unique perspectives. Victory says: “‘Burning Bridges’ is about being in a place of emotional purgatory. A transitional and painful growth period, when someone is grappling with something difficult, before they make a decision to sacrifice their old life for a new one and hit a breakthrough; it’s about being willing to let go and destroy what no longer serves you to get to another level; and the beauty of the cycle of death and rebirth of an ideal, emotion or part of yourself that needs to be free.”

Victory admits there is a deeply personal root to the song for her as well; “Ultimately for me, it’s about re-discovering myself, after coming to a harsh realisation that something had to be destroyed before a new life can begin.”

Burning Bridges marks the beginning of Victory’s career as a solo artist, but also extends her existing reach as creative leader. In addition to her music she is the co-founder of a groundbreaking creative company and women’s empowerment movement, The Colored Girlwhich unites, uplifts, and empowers women of color worldwide. Since launching 2016, the company’s work has been featured in Vogue, People, Instyle, Cosmo, Glamour, Forbes, Essence, Huffington Post, BBC and more.

News about Victory’s upcoming EP will be announced in due course.
