Most Recent Technological Advancements

Due to the staggering nature of human intelligence, amazing technological advances are taking place all the time which are leading to society developing at an alarming rate. There are lots of ethical points to raise regarding some of the advancements taking place, as they take us further and further away from what nature dictates that we should be doing. However, some advancements are unquestionably positive. Here, we take a look at some of the most recent technological developments and how beneficial they really are.

3D Printing

In the 1980s the concept of 3D printing started to become a reality with Hideo Kodama coming up with the concept of a layered printing technique to produce 3D objects, but it wasn’t until 1987 that the first effective 3D printer was built. Following this, Carl Deckard designed 3D printing using a laser which builds powder into 3D objects. The potential of 3D printing soon began to grow as people considered its uses in not only manufacturing but also healthcare. In 1999, scientists printed the structure of a human bladder and in 2010 a bioprinting company printed a human blood vessel. In 2014, the first ever fully 3D printed car was created however, there is still a long way to go as the 3D printing process is still extremely slow. Recently, more and more materials are becoming involved in the process, including metal and glass.

Cryptocurrency

It is decentralized and this can make it a risky investment. Therefore, some people do have reservations about investing in something with no real physical presence. There is advice out there though, for example, SoFi has created a hub with information and advice with regards to cryptocurrency investing, for beginners and experts alike. Also, there are now various automated trading platforms such as BitQT that promise smooth and seamless crypto trading. Moreover, it is also no secret that those who have invested in cryptocurrencies have made good profits so far. If you’d like to give it a go, check out Live Crypto News.

Artificial Embryos

There are amazing scientific advancements being made all the time but most recently, embryologists are trying to break down the process of how embryos grow so that they can try to create them without natural reproductive processes. Embryologists from Cambridge University have recently made a breakthrough by using stem cells from a mouse embryo to create a new organism which resembles the same. They are still far from being able to create a complete embryo however, this shows that they are beginning to understand how they develop. Artificial Embryo research is possible because of companies like SciQuip who are UK owned suppliers of scientific & laboratory equipment for research, clinical, academic and manufacturing.

Technological advancements have the potential to completely transform life as we know it. We are now on our way to being able to print human organs which could save many lives, we have almost completely digitalised our currency, and we may soon be able to create embryos in a laboratory.
