The daughter of a musician and an actress, some might say it was somewhat inevitable that Tally Spear would enter the world of music. However rather than simply trace over the path used by her parents, this young and talented songsmith is forging ahead on her own terms. Boasting a breezy country-folk sound married with intelligent and insightful lyrics, we caught up with Tally to take a trip down musical memory lane.

What song reminds you most of your childhood?

Anything from a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie soundtrack, ha!

Which song inspired you to become a musician/singer?

There really wasn’t any particular song. Listening to great music always inspires me to continue what I’m doing.

Which song do you wish you had written?

So many it’s impossible to pick just one. First one that just popped in my head was Good Times Bad Times, Led Zeppelin.

Which artist/band has been the most inspirational to you?

Mr Bob Dylan!

Which song/album currently dominates your attention?

I’ve been listening to The Doobie Brother’s again recently, mostly just Long Train runnin’ on repeat…

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

In a modern sense, I’d love a writing session with Taylor Swift. She’s a real force.
